The National Police have detained in the municipality of The lagoon (Tenerife) to a 51-year-old man, with a police record, who was caught in a rented van with 400 kilos of hashish, for which he has been charged with an alleged crime against public health.
The National Police investigators, within the actions that are being followed to suppress organized drug trafficking, detected movements of a man, with a history of such events, between different islands of the Archipelago towards Tenerife.
After his arrival at the Tenerife North airport, this person was intercepted aboard a rental van in the municipality of La Laguna. When searching the vehicle, the National Police investigators found more than 400 kilograms of hashish divided into several boxes.
After the discovery, the National Police agents proceeded to arrest this person and intervene with the narcotic substance. The detainee, together with the statement made to that effect, was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, which ordered his admission to prison.
The actions have been carried out by agents of the National Police of the UDYCO of the Provincial Police Station of the National Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
