Spain.- Despite the fact that Covid-19 infections do not stop in Spain, the students of the Complutense University of Madrid dared to hold a macro-party to celebrate the start of the school year, where it is estimated that there were at least 25 A thousand people denounced this Saturday the Municipal Police who recognized that the fact had only been notified.
“The University at no time offered notice or prior information. It seems that the call was on WhatsApp and that university parties were being held ”, police said in a statement.
It was through social networks that the large crowd that gathered in the common areas of the university was evidenced to celebrate the beginning of the university year.
As mentioned by the authorities, the macro-party would have been called through WhatsApp and therefore there was no prior information on their conduct.
For this reason, the Police regretted that no operation could be carried out to dissolve the more than 25 thousand students, so that, during Saturday night, they only focused on carrying out surveillance tasks in order to avoid incidents.
For its part, the university regretted that the university community has abandoned the “University City of Madrid”, and urged students to adopt attitudes of responsibility.
Although in Madrid the restrictions due to Covid-19 have already been relaxed and the maximum capacity is allowed in establishments, shopping centers, markets and others, the authorities have not eliminated compliance with maintaining an interpersonal distance of at least 1.5 meters and the use of facial mask.
